Ascension Day Celebrations

We had a lovely day of celebrations starting with a special Ascension Day Mass which was presided over by Fr. Azariah and Revd. Bec with our special guest and Archdeacon, Ven. Karen Lund. After the service we had a couple of beautifully sung pieces from Heartedge Manchester Choral Scholars and a heart melting rendition of Abba's classic, Waterloo, by Year 3 pupils from St. Philip's CE Primary School, who also led us in the School Prayer.

The evening was an embarrassment of riches with a wide variety of musicians, singers and poets. We had performances from the Royal Northern College's Brass Quintet; David Benjamin Blower; Trinity High School Brass Band; and the Lugandan Choir.

200 guests enjoyed amazing food, high quality entertainment, and a chance to get to know each other. It was a brilliant day.

We'd like to thank everyone who was involved in setting up the event; feeding people; entertaining people; and generally being amazing. Special thanks to the volunteers from Manchester University who did an amazing job and, of course, to Revd Bec who organised the whole thing.
